Joy Awards celebrates the stars of Arab cinema, television, music and sport, and its audience votes for them from their phones. Eurisko designed and developed the official Joy Awards app for iOS and Android: nominations, voting and nominee profiles in Arabic and English, engineered to absorb millions of users acting in the same moment during live events.

The challenge

An awards app has one defining moment: the window when voting opens and millions of fans act at once. Traffic does not grow gradually, it arrives as a burst, with nomination requests, votes and page views spiking together while the show is on air. Every vote has to count exactly once, the experience has to stay instant, and the platform has to be trusted by fans, organisers and the stars themselves.

The app also had to carry the full lifecycle, from nomination management through voting to analytics, in both Arabic and English, with right-to-left and left-to-right layouts that feel native to each audience.

The results

The Joy Awards app has surpassed 14.8 million downloads, processed more than 16.5 million nominations from over a million nomination requests, and reached the number one spot in the Entertainment category on the App Store across Arab countries. Through live events it handled massive spikes in traffic and voting while keeping the experience smooth, secure and uninterrupted.
